Crazy Crawlers!

Hallie and Brighton both took about 3-4 crawling motions on Sunday night… one right after the other. But, today Hallie is back to army crawling more than she crawls, while Brighton is crawling all over the place…. so Brighton has officially “crawled first”.

Hallie’s First Tooth

Hallie’s first tooth finally broke through, front tooth bottom left. Yippee! She has been so fussy lately, at least there was a reason. Course, we all have had the stomach flu… so that could be part of her fussiness as well.

Both twins have been sitting up for the last couple weeks and get up on their hands and knees and rock like they are going to crawl any day. Hallie jumps in the jumper like a little jack rabbit. It’s pretty stinkin’ cute. Hallie also has great fine motor skills, she can pick up little puff treats and put them in her mouth! She’s amazing! Hallie now weighs 15 lbs 6 oz and Brighton 13 lbs 13 oz. Brighton is the happiest little doll… always grinning and jabbering. We are big fans of her (Brighton’s) long blond wispy hair that sticks straight up. I know I need to post pictures!

A little bit of lots of things

Cole started gymnastics last week & loves it. His coordination is quite amazing. It’s cute to see him stretching, swinging, hanging, running, jumping, balancing, riding the pommel horse, doing somersaults, climbing, etc. The only part I hate is chasing him when he loses interest in whatever they are supposed to be doing. I keep having to remind myself that it’s good for him physically and good to learn to follow directions.

We went to Hee Haw farms today with Rylie and Brady’s preschool that Amy teaches at. It was fun, but exhausting. I didn’t have the energy to take any pictures, so you’ll have to see pictures on Amy’s, Val’s, or Julie’s blog. My normally daredevil of a child, Cole, wouldn’t go down the slide, but enjoyed climbing up the hay bails and stairs to climb back down again. He was so excited to see the cows, pigs, chickens, goats, bunnies, etc. He loves to name the animals and make their noises to them. The hay ride was cut short due to the tractor dying. He got to pick a “punkin” (pumpkin). He loved riding the little tractors, but when he started crying cuz a kid wouldn’t let him on the big one… it was time to go!

Cole is doing so well potty training. He’s hasn’t had an accident in a whole week. We still put a diaper on at night, but he does great during the day… even staying dry through his naps. He says his prayers almost all by himself… they sound something like this “Heavenly Father, Jackson & Heidi (from daycare), potty, mommy, daddy, Brighton, Hallie, Gramma, Papa, Jornan, Shellys, Rylie, Saige… and then names nearly every cousin, aunt, & uncle he has… toys, blanket, good boy, Jesus, Amen.

Brighton got a second tooth over the weekend. Hallie has her first tooth pushing up where we can see the corner of it. Brighton jabbers pretty much nonstop. Sometimes we make out “mama”, “baba”, “yeah yeah”… and sometimes there is no sound, just her mouth moving. It’s funny! Hallie can sit up now by herself for a few minutes at a time. Brighton sits too, her balance just isn’t as good so she topples over more often. They both laugh now and have cute little senses of humor. They are both ticklish, but I got both of them giggling so hard last Sunday at my moms just by laughing and talking to them. There is just something amazing about babies giggles that just tickles everyone in hearing range.

Brighton’s First Tooth

Brighton’s first tooth (front lower left) broke through over the weekend. We think this may explain why she wasn’t taking bottles very well last week. We’re hoping this is why they haven’t been sleeping through the night lately as well, cuz as soon as it broke through, she slept all night. She’s super drooly, to the point that I had to put a bib on her yesterday. But, she’s been really happy and smiley, so if this is how she get’s teeth… we’re lucky!

I can’t believe how fast the twins are growing up! They are both mobile, rolling and semi-scooting to get where they want to go. Brighton weighs 13.2 lbs and Hallie weighs 14.8 lbs. They were sitting in their bumbo’s today holding hands and just grinning and making noises at each other. I hope that they stay close friends their entire lives. They both think Cole is awesome and he loves showing off for them, kissing them, picking them up, and telling them stories. It’s pretty dang cute to see all 3 of them interact. These precious moments sure help in the midst of the chaos and insanity when they are all 3 crying.
