Update

My kids grow up so fast, if I don’t remember to write some of this down… I won’t remember. And since our hard drive with all the pictures died… there won’t be pics with this post.

Cole is so fun right now. He loves to sing and tell stories. He’s learning tons & says the cutest things, like “look mom the snow has sprinkles” and “let’s go to the zuzeum and see the dinosaur bones”. Last night he was trying to delay going to bed, so he told me he needed to tell me a story. One story turned into 3 and he kept saying one more putting up a different finger each time, until the last one was the thumb story. He starts them all with “okay, here it is” and rolls his eyes as he’s thinking up stuff, tilts his head, looks out the corner of his eyes, talks with his hands, and gives great sound effects. His stories range from Papa, lions, bad guys, saving people, falling, flowers, slides, Santa, to pretty much whatever he is thinking about. He is hilarious and we love him so much. He finally got a big boy bed, cuz he stayed dry at night for over two weeks now. He and the girls love to climb up to his big boy bed and hang out, talk, and be silly.

Hallie is pretty much the life of the party at our house. She is a total goof ball. She loves to sing although she rarely knows the words… guess she takes after her mom that way. She is a little momma’s girl right now, clingy, and wanting to be wherever I am – doing what I’m doing. She especially loves to help do dishes, move laundry, or spray and wipe anything that I’ll let her. Both the twins can open doors, love puzzles, blocks, babies, dinosaurs, books, and pretending in their kitchen or being puppies.

Brighton is still our little doll. Her latest favorite word is “watch”, which she wants Tay or I to “watch” her do just about anything and expects us to cheer at whatever it is. She too has a little mind of her own, like the other two… surprising, I know! She likes to command us lately, telling us to “sit” (sounds more like sh*t), “up”, “down”, “comeer” (come here), “move”, “walk”, and the occasional “shup” which of course she gets in trouble for. She has an incredibly fierce dinosaur growl that you have to hear to believe comes from such a sweet girl. Brighton likes to sing too… mostly head, shoulders, knees, and toes and bubble gum from Cole’s preschool CD.

Most days are overwhelming at best, but we try to remember that we’ll miss this stage of their lives too soon, so we just try to enjoy it!

Skating, Sledding & Lights

My kids absolutely loved sledding! We went on Christmas Eve and then again on New Years. The very first time Cole went down he giggled and giggled SO hard the whole way down and then for seriously like a full minute after he had stopped. Tay & I couldn’t help but laugh too cuz it was so cute. Hallie giggles just as hard nearly every time down. Brighton loves it too! They all 3 would go down on their bums or on their bellies when it wasn’t their turn on the sleds. Too fun! Here’s a video of Cole & his cousin Hayden!

Skating:
We took the kids skating with my family a couple days before Christmas. The twins did really good and loved it. Cole had a rough start, but eventually got the hang of it and had a blast. Thanks Shelly & Brady for the extra hands on the ice & mom & Jordan for extra hands off the ice. We really appreciate it!

Lights at Temple Square

This year we went to the lights a couple days after Christmas with grandma & grandpa Ehat, that was totally a good choice as far as the crowds, but it was FREEZING!!!

Christmas

We’ve also been having lots of fun this holiday season going to the Ornament Exchange, Festival of Trees, Family Christmas Parties, Ward Christmas Party, sitting on Santa’s Lap, Lights at Thanksgiving Point, Christmas Concerts, and we’ll be going to the lights at Temple Square tomorrow. Here’s a couple of our pics so far & a few in their Christmas outfits.

SNOW!

My kids have been loving the snow. It takes just as much time to bundle them all up as they spend playing outside, but at least they are getting use of their snow clothes.
