Tornados
I swear I have three little tornado’s. Ever wonder what I do all day when I’m not at work? Well, I’ll give you a little glimpse.
Wake up to Cole pounding on his door and yelling “mom”. I go open his door and direct him toward the shower. I start the water, but he’s good to get in by himself. I check my e-mail. The girls wake up not too long after him, so I run the water for their tub as son as Cole is in the shower. I wrestle the girls’ clothes off and get them in the tub. Cole finishes in the shower, I help him get clothes on, then he heads for the toys. I hurry and shower. The girls drain their water and I fill it back up 3 times while I shower and brush my teeth. Then I get the girls out, dress them, do their hair, and head to the kitchen to get them all breakfast. While I’m dressing Hallie, Brighton takes everything out of the bathroom drawers and the garbage. While they are eating, I hurry in and try to clean up Brighton’s mess in the bathroom. Today, I forgot to lock the front door (the high lock), so while I’m in the bathroom, I hear Cole calling for his dad outside. I throw on clothes and head outside to drag him back in. I clean up the girls’ breakfast and start the dishwasher. Then I fold a batch of laundry and put away Cole’s hanging clothes. I attempt to dry my hair, while the girls empty the kitchen towel drawer, pull everything they can reach out of the garbage, and drag toys all across the house. I feel like I follow them around cleaning up after them and the phone rings seriously 5 or more times in the middle of the chaos. The girls are super whiny and just want to be held, so I put them in bed for naps. I then take Cole down to get some Father’s Day pictures. The girls are still awake when my mom, nephew, sister, and her two girls show up. We take all the kids downstairs. I try to get pics of my girls, but they are still too whiny, so I put them back down for a nap. I take pictures of my nieces and nephew while Cole plays with the toys downstairs. Every few minutes he is too rough and ends up in time out. I set up another backdrop and bring a couch from my bedroom downstairs in the midst of the chaos. At noon, we bring the kids up for lunch. I clean up lunch and get a change of clothes for the kids. I attempt to take more pics of my girls, Brighton did not want to cooperate. Then we change their clothes and try to get pictures of all 6 of my mom’s grandkids (all under 4). You can imagine how fun that was. We were seriously sweating! Hallie would stand up, Cole would get up, Sky would lay down, and the other 3 would just look at them like, why can’t you cooperate. It was pretty comical. Cole has a meltdown, my mom and sister pack up to leave. I let the kids go outside while they were getting ready to leave. Cole gets out the hose and waters the plants… and his sisters. Hallie trips on the hose and falls in the mud and Brighton is playing in a pot of mud. I strip Hallie and bring her and Brighton in and clean them up. Then go back outside for Cole. I come in to find the twins stringing toilet paper across my house and Brighton running around with the toilet brush. I change bums and put clean clothes on them. Cole has to go potty and puts all the extra toilet paper in the toilet. It clogs and overflows water all over the floor. Hallie and Brighton try to play in the water. I screamed and scared all of them… so now they are all crying in the middle of my watery bathroom mess. I clean up the girls, take them out, unclog the toilet, and close the door. Put clean clothes on Cole and put the girls down for a nap. Then I head back in the bathroom to finish cleaning it up. Cole is now laying on the couch watching Superwhy while I’m typing this… and it’s only 2 in the afternoon! AHHH! Here’s the only picture we got of all of them looking up.
