Bowling Bummer

My family always goes bowling on New Years Day. This year was no exception. Tay and I were so excited to take Coley this year as he’s finally old enough to bowl with help. Much to our dismay, the bowling alley is not the safest place for a very enthusiastic 20 mo old. To say it bluntly, Coley was a pill! We got to the bowling alley about 20 min before the rest of my family, which was like torture to our little boy who just didn’t understand why he couldn’t get the balls and run down the lanes to follow them. He just kept yelling “ball, ball” as he constantly was struggling to get down and run. When my family finally came, Taylor and I were already exhausted from wrestling and chasing our crazy little man. When we finally started bowling, he loved the bowling balls and was super excited to roll them down the lane, but he wanted to chase them. Once, he successfully escaped from my grasp running full blast down the lane toward the pins. The sliding and falling down didn’t deter him, he was determined to follow the ball! I finally caught him about 3/4 the way down the lane and brought him back kicking and screaming. He never grasped the concept of taking turns either. He loved the ball return too… scaring all of us by putting his head right where the balls come up or by putting his hands where they could get smashed by the balls. Luckily, no injuries occurred, but he surely tested our patience and physical stamina. I think it will be a while before we attempt taking Cole bowling again.

Oh man what an adventure. He is such a cute monkey! Josef and I laughed hysterically while reading this. I guess the next time you go bowling, I will baby sit Coley Meister.
