Home Run!

Okay, so my grandma gave Coley a padded baseball bat for his birthday. He loves it, but we were having issues with him hitting the TV, furniture, and even us. We would tell him, “we only hit balls”, which he was really good about turning and hitting, chopping, or poking at the balls (any balls) on the floor with the bat. I have been looking for a little T-ball Tee for a while now, but have had little luck with finding one small enough. I finally found one a couple weeks ago that I could adjust to his height. I showed him only once how to hit the ball off the Tee before he took a big old swing and hit the ball for a HOME RUN into the kitchen! He laughed so hard. Taylor and I were amazed that a 14 month old could hit a ball off a baseball Tee, so we put another one on to see if it was a fluke. He hit the next one too, but not quite as far. He loves this game, and it helps channel his hitting energy with the bat… and when he gets bored with it, he picks up the flexible tubing from the Tee makes “do do do” noises through it like a horn.

His newest things are that he signs “please”, which gets him anything because it’s so dang cute, and he thinks it’s hilarious to fall down. He’ll raise his hands as high as he can, dives to the floor, and then laughs like he’s done the most amazing thing. What a boy! He also tries to jump. Yesterday he actually got both feet off the floor at the same time!

As far as what we’ve been doing, Taylor has been working on the yard – he has finished the trampoline pit and is now working on digging trenches for the sprinkler pipes. I’m on bedrest as we just finished PGD, the procedure we do to get pregnant without passing on Hemophilia. We won’t find out if I’m pregnant until later this month.
